We provide pet food at no cost to pet owners who are struggling financially and cannot afford to keep their pets.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
When our pantry started in 2010, economic reasons accounted for approximately 25% of the pets that were surrendered by their owners to local shelters. By 2018, that number had dropped to 7.3%
In 2020, less than 2% of pets were surrendered locally because their owner couldn't afford to buy food.
In 2021, we distributed 100,252 pounds of food to help pets and their owners in our community and across our region!
By providing free pet food to those in need, we are able to:
Reduce the number of animals that are taken to the shelter
Reduce the number of animals that are euthanized due to overcrowded shelters
Preserve the loving relationship that pet owners share with their pets
Relieve people of the emotional stress of not being able to provide for their pets
“We’ve learned what true unconditional love is thanks to our pets. The deep relationship between us and each of our pets makes us
a better person."
