We provide pet food at no cost to pet owners who are struggling financially and cannot afford to keep their pets.
Economic reasons account for approximately 25% of the pets that are surrendered by their owners to local shelters.
In 2018, we distributed 69,135 pounds of food to help pets and their owners in our community!
By providing free pet food to those in need, we are able to:
Reduce the number of animals that are taken to the shelter
Reduce the number of animals that are euthanized due to overcrowded shelters
Preserve the loving relationship that pet owners share with their pets
Relieve people of the emotional stress of not being able to provide for their pets
Who we are . . . What we do
Fort Wayne Pet Food Pantry is an all volunteer non profit that provides free pet food to those who are struggling financially - families, people with disabilities, the elderly, disabled veterans, and the homeless. We feel that pets are so important to the health and well being of our clients, providing much needed companionship. All of our pet food is donated by the community. and we are proud that our entire operating budget goes directly to support our mission. We distribute free dry food, canned food and treats out of our facility at 2502 Church St in Waynedale and at nine area food banks run by churches.

“We’ve learned what true unconditional love is thanks to our pets. The deep relationship between us and each of our pets makes us
a better person for sure."
